Poco is a Bitch with a capital "B", and she keeps all the boys in line. Friend to all in the household, she is a fabulous peacekeeper and puppy raiser. I can't imagine life without her.
I don't know how old Poco is, we adopted her as mature dog from the shelter - and she hasn't seemed to have aged much in the past 10 years. She still beats the other dogs to the ball, and if she doesn't she'll run them over anyway. Poco is like a force of nature, dogs quickly learn to get out of her way.
Poco is also an extremely effective natural hunter, she is a terror to woodland creatures everywhere. She's taken out her fair share of wildlife, yet she's completely trustworthy with people. I trust her more than any of our dogs, her temperment is rock solid.
She is very soft towards people - too soft! Our biggest challenge in her dog sports days was getting her to stop worrying about the possibility of doing something 'wrong'. She loved flyball more than agility for that reason, once she quickly learned what flyball was all about she loved the repetition!
More than anything Poco just loves being with her pack and showing them who's boss. Her favorite game is competitive fetch - it's no fun unless she gets to beat other dogs to the ball. She might be getting up there in age, but there is no stopping my amazing Poco.
Hard to believe that Poco is that same scared, skinny little dog we brought home from the shelter all those years ago. A more loyal and trusting dog you will never meet - Poco is my perfect girl. There will never be another like my sweet yet totally hardcore Poco.
